Q: What are lash extensions?
A: Lash extensions are used to enhance the natural lashes and enhance or correct the eye shape. Each individual lash extension is dipped in adhesive and attached to a natural lash. It is not the same as false lashes.
Q: How do I prepare for my appointment?
A: Come to your appointment without wearing any eye makeup (no mascara, lash strips, eyeliner or shadow). Your lash extensions will not adhere properly to your natural lashes with any oil or makeup residue. If you normally wear contacts, bring your case and glasses. For your first appointment, please arrive 5 minutes early to complete the necessary paperwork.
Q: How should I take care of my extensions?
A: Caring for your extensions is simple. In the first 24 hours after your appointment, avoid getting your lashes wet, rubbing them, and going in a sauna or steam room. Beyond that, just be gentle! Don’t curl or perm your lashes, and avoid oil-based products near your eyes (makeup, makeup remover, sunscreen, etc.).
Q: Can I wear eye makeup?
A: Extensions are so beautiful on their own that you’ll probably find you don’t need any additional enhancement. However, if you just can’t live without your eyeliner or mascara, go ahead. Just make sure it’s water-soluble and oil-free, as makeup with oil can loosen the glue’s bond, causing the extension to separate from the natural lash and fall off prematurely. When you remove your makeup, stick to oil-free removers and be careful not to rub your eyes. Please be advised that even if you choose to wear oil-free makeup, there’s a chance your extensions will separate prematurely.
Q: What is microblading?
A: Microblading is an advanced technique of permanent makeup. It creates fine hairlike strokes to partially or fully camouflage missing eyebrow hair.
Q: What is microshading?
A: Microshading is a permanent makeup technique that creates a soft powder effect by leaving tiny dots of pigment in the skin. This is a great option for sensitive or oily skin types.
Q: Does it hurt?
A: While permanent makeup may appear painful, using the right combination of numbing agents eliminates any discomfort. In fact, most of my clients can sleep though the process of getting their eyes, eyebrows or lips done. I also have options for those with allergies to numbing creams.
Q: Can anyone get permanent makeup done?
A: There is a short list of contraindications. Please download and fill out the client consent form prior to your free consultation.
Q: How can I be sure that I’ll be happy with the outcome?
A: I do not start the process until you’re 100% sure you like the color selected and shape designed for you. I do not use stencils, and I mix pigments individually for each client as I don’t believe in “cookie cutter” approach. You as a client are involved in each step of designing your new eyebrows or lips.
Q: How long does permanent makeup last?
A: It depends on many factors such as oily skin, whether you’re a sun worshipper, your metabolism, etc. On average, you’ll need a color boost every 1-2 years.
